Wristcutters: A Love Story (Dir. Goran Dukic, 2006)

I want to use this scene as inspiration for the character of Jack. I think that the use of the static camera is really expressive of the mood of the protagonist and we can parallel this with Jack’s OCD behaviour to show rigidity and structure within the household that he rules over. Instead of cleaning, however, the dissolves and cuts of him going around the room would be used to connote the amount of time and care he spends on tending to his plants rather than on cleaning. Using this montage would establish his obsessive character with his plants without having to use much time or any dialogue.
